441Allied London High Hopes for Manchester

Allied London, property giant, unveiled its plans for a new 150,000 sq. ft office development. This office will reside at the distinguished Spinningfields site. Since the recession began, there have been no plans for new rent office planning, until now.
Recently, Manchester City Council made a surprising decision to walk away from their 100,000 sq ft Deansgate site, which led Allied London to this new addition.
Work on this new site should begin within 18 months, according to Allied London bosses. For work to begin by the later part of 2010, a three or four year lease would have meant that important sites at Spinningfields location would not have been available to be developed.
In a ‘mutual decision’ to end negotiations with city council, who wanted 100,000 sq feet of offices with desk space at Spinningfields which was used for housing 1,800 staff members during a major change in the town hall, Allied London decided on this new development.
It’s felt that the success rentals of Desk Space in Manchester, Liverpool, and Edinburgh, leave developers optimistic about this new project and that Spinningfield will be involved with many new potential renters. At 3 Hardman Street, PricewaterhouseCoopers and DWF are looking at 70,000 sq ft each of office relocation along with a public sector occupier who is looking for around 200,000 sq ft of rented desk space.
